The SERVE Solidarity Fund, is a series of mini grants made available to all individuals who have completed an overseas volunteering project with SERVE 2003 – 2017.
The aim of the Mini Grant is to facilitate and enhance the work that volunteers have started while volunteering overseas and aid them in continuing to advocate for the causes they have worked with, and providing a voice for our community partners and friends, on this side of the world.
The Solidarity Fund Mini Grants aim to provide an opportunity for volunteers to turn their good ideas into even greater actions with SERVE providing a helping hand to overcome the financial constraints which can often impede a good idea.  By providing three successful applicants with a grant, SERVE wants to provide you with the financial support to organise activities or events which will raise awareness about the people and issues you have encountered during your time overseas. Your project can have a real impact on the way Irish people think about global issues and in turn bring about real change in the world.  In 2017, SERVE will provide 3 grants:
  1. Development Education Grant: €500
Suggestions include; workshops in schools, guest speakers, photo exhibitions, developing development education resources etc.
  1. Profile Raising Grant: €750
Suggestions include; world record attempts (flip flop run in Galway, 2013), campaign and advocacy initiatives, workshops, mini festivals etc.
  1. Fundraising Grant: €1,000
Suggestions include; implementing a strategy to enhance SERVE’s existing fundraising events such as the Four Peaks Challenge and Flip Flop Friday, devising a new fundraising initiative etc.
