Operations Assistant
Based in CORK CITY
Description
The intern will gain practical experience in the operations of the overseas volunteer programme, fundraising and communications departments. The intern will experience administering an overseas volunteer programme, implementation of fundraising events, and devising and implementation of a communications plan. The intern will receive formal/informal training in the following :Interviewing skills, advertising, database management, good practice in communications, updating and maintaining websites, updating training resources, group management”. On completion the intern will have attained skills in volunteer programme management, recruitment and selection skills, database management, fundraising coordination and management, communications planning and implementation, social media.
Skills Requirements
The candidate would ideally be a graduate, with an interest in the overseas development/non-profit sector. They should be enthusiastic and creative with good interpersonal/customer service skills; honest, eager, dependable and excellent attention to detail. Candidates should have an interest in fundraising, event management, communications and PR. Willingness to undertake some travel within Ireland for work. Occasional weekend work required.

This is an Internship. An allowance of €50 per week will be paid in addition to your current Social Welfare payment.See eligibility criteria above.

Education Requirements:
Third Level – The candidate would ideally be a graduate, with an interest in the overseas development or non-profit sector. Competent Microsoft Office user in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Previous office administration experience is desirable.
